Sociology and Criminal Justice Department

The fields of sociology and criminal justice cover a wide range of topics and skillsets. From understanding the social and societal behavior of people in different communities to using that knowledge to investigate and stop crimes, all are focused on humanity and discovering ways to improve the world and communities we live in. These fields also provide a solid foundation for a wide range of careers, ranging from law enforcement to government to teaching to research and beyond.

Lincoln University's Sociology and Criminal Justice Department is dedicated to educating you and giving you real hands-on experience in these fields. You can choose to pursue a major in Anthropology, Criminal Justice, or Sociology. Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Art (BA) degrees are available for each major, and you can also pursue a minor in Criminal Justice or Sociology. The Criminal Justice major offers Law Enforcement, Forensic Science, and Legal Studies so you can further personalize your education and study what you're most passionate about.

All of our programs are taught by a dedicated faculty with extensive education and background in their chosen field. They'll work with you to ensure your success in your studies and offer important advice and guidance as you move toward graduation and begin planning for finding a job or pursuing further study. The Sociology and Criminal Justice Department also has a Departmental Honors program for students who have reached their junior year and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3.
